Clinics

What Is It?

The ice-dancing class is geared towards our beginner to advanced skaters. On ice instruction focuses on power skating, edges and turns, patterns dance,  choreography, free dance elements and program practice. Off ice instruction focuses on proper warm up, ballet, pilates, yoga, zumba, stretching, flexibility, cardio, strengthening and ballroom dance.

The Benefits

Ice dancing is a great form of figure skating and the knowledge gained from this genre is beneficial in all other genres of skating. The basics skating techniques learned in ice dancing are essential in freestyle, synchronized skating and pairs skating. Emphasis on carriage, extensions, power, edge quality and knee action will help the skaters develop technically and artistically.

Who Will Teach It?

The classes will be primarily coached by Katrina Shalin, Vitaliy Shalin and Maxim Kachanov. Guest coaches will be brought in for off-ice classes.
